Ryan had an appointment yesterday at Memorial Hermann at 9am. He was going again in hopes to receiving his new feeding tube device, a "mickey". This looks like a button with a clamp on his feeding tube that is located on his stomach. Everything was successful with this process. The doctors did not use any anesthesia, so it was apparent that Ryan was in a little bit of uncomfortable pain. He is very aware of the new "object". The doctor's at health bridge have made the decision to keep the binder that goes around his torso on for a few days to let everything heal properly. After that, we will finally be able to remove the binder; I know this will be much more comfortable for him! I cannot imagine have a thick bandage style binder wrapped around my stomach for over two months!
