Ryan is officially scheduled to have his trachea removed on Monday at 7:30am!!!!!!!! They will be scoping his throat to ensure to no blockage first. This is extremely exciting news and we are praising God for the speediness of this process!!! What a gracious God we serve!!!! I am so happy! I know that Ryan will be so much more comfortable without a plastic tube sticking out from his throat! The recovery road is getting brighter each day!!!!!! Please continue your prayers throughout the week, that Ryan continues to breath perfectly on his own and that no infections arise.
Ryan was very tired today, this was evident during his therapy. It was difficult for OT to even get him out of bed this morning, they ended up being unsuccessful. Instead they allowed Ryan to do therapy while remaining in bed. Physical therapy came later and he was able to get Ryan up and moving a bit. When Ryan began to walk, he walked straight towards a chair in his room for visitors and tried to sit down. Brock, the therapist, instructed Ryan that if he wanted to sit, he needed to walk to his wheelchair. So Ryan did!!!! Then when Ryan was walking, Brock asked him to turn left, and he did that too!!!!! These small miracles allow us to remain confident during this journey. We are confident that Ryan can see somethings; he wouldn't be able to walk to the chair if he couldn't see. This miracle also tells us that Ryan can hear and follow commands as well as understand and remember directions, such as left and right!
Something I want to remind you, as well as myself sometimes, is that we must not overlook God's work. Each day He gives us reason to praise Him and to be joyous about. We just have to make sure our eyes are open and our hearts are willing to receive Our God's love. Proverbs 8:17 says, "I love those who love me, and those who seek me dilegently find me." So let's constantly seek The Lord, and I know that we will find him around every corner!
