Praise God for giving Ryan two amazing "test" days with his trachea being capped! Ryan is breathing perfectly on his own through his nose and mouth. Tomorrow morning Ryan begins his 72 hour trial of day and night being capped. The doctors say that the night time is when they see the most complications with the breathing. If Ryan has no problems during these 72 hours, we will begin the steps to removing the trachea; what an amazing step this will be to recovery!! I cannot stop thanking our awesome Savior for giving Ryan this step so quickly! Please pray for Ryan during these next 3 days that his breathing will sustain all day and throughout the night without any complications.
Today God gave us another beautiful Sunday! Ryan was able to be taken outside in his wheel chair to enjoy the fresh air again with Mom and Haley, his sister. Ryan also had visitors from Willis high school and Pearland high school today. I know that he enjoys the support that his friends are continuing to give him throughout this lengthy process.
Tomorrow, Ryan will be picked up by the ambulance at 11am to ride to Memorial Hermann for a neurological urologist appointment. Please keep the drivers in your prayers as Ryan rides across Houston tomorrow morning.
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. Psalm 18:30
As you can tell, this past week I have been very busy and my blog posts weren't very in depth as before. Throughout this weekend I had been convinced that I would begin only posting every few days or even once a week. This seemed fair and my family agreed that this would be okay. I prayed about it and did not feel peace but also didn't have a definite answer. Fortunatley, God is ALWAYS listening and working through others constantly. I woke up this morning and saw the post from Lee Rouse reminding me that people are consistently logging on to this site to read about Ryan's miracle and God's amazing work. Each day there is an average of two thousand views which then lead to prayer for Ryan as well as giving thanks to our magnificent Healer and Lord. My small time that it takes to update is worth the amount of prayers that glorifies Our God. So.... I heard you Lord and I am back in the "game" full force! :) I want to apologize for growing weary this past week. I have decided that I will write updates everyday until Ryan returns home, and then continue with the updates weekly. Thank you to everyone that is following Ryan's miracle and praying for him constantly. I know that God is smiling down on this community and the fellowship that this trial has conjured together.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
