What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise...
'Cause what if your blessings come through rain dropsThis song spoke straight to my heart this morning on my way to work. If you get a chance listen to the entire song, Blessings by Laura Story. It is a beautiful song with perfect lyrics that I needed today. These trials that we are undergoing are allowing us to see and know that amazing works of our Lord. I am able to feel the power, love, and peace of God. His closeness is apparent when I am with Ryan. Oh what a gracious God we serve!
Ryan had an amazing day yesterday! His daily progressions are truly uplifting in spirit and faith! I am blessed to have something to write about and share each day due to Ryan's great journey in recovery. His aggression is becoming MUCH better!! He hasn't punched me in a week!! ...but I am a lucky one. He is still becoming agitated, but it substantially less...his frustration usually only shows during therapy. This makes sense, he becomes agitated because he cannot do things, or it is very, very difficult to do things that are supposed to come easily. For example, speech therapy and physical therapy. Ryan is doing much better and hitting his therapist much less which is allowing him to get the much needed therapy to strengthen his muscles.
Yesterday he was able to feed himself on his own... well kinda (a step in the right direction). Mom filled up his spoon with the food, Ryan held the spoon with his left and and fed himself! This is a great improvement because it works on his fine motor skills.
Ryan walked again in therapy for the first time in over a month, and he did a great job!!! He also made a pizza and ate it. He began to choke, which was very scary. We had to talk to Ryan about ensuring that he chews his food very well so that does not happen again. I think it scared him too.
Please continue to thank the Lord for the work he has already done and continuing to do within Ryan and our family. It is the ultimate miracle. We are witnesses. We are blessed. We are grateful. All of the glory goes to You.
