Ryan had a successful trip to Memorial Hermann today. He visited the neurosurgeon urologist today. We were able to combine two hospital trips in one today, that in itself is a blessing. The urologist was able to scan Ryan and then assess him. The results were positive.
Ryan has not had any complications with his trachea being capped. As mentioned before, today has started the first 72 hour trial that allows Ryan to breath on his own. Tonight will be Ryan's first night that he will be assessed with his breathing on his own throughout the night. Please keep Ryan in your prayers as he undergoes this trial.
We are having to keep Ryan's large restrain mitten on his left hand. This is because he is beginning to become slightly aggressive. He is consistently grabbing for his trachea. This is scary for us and can be very harmful, so the restriant is necessary, unfortunately. The movement and notice of his discomfort from Ryan's trachea allows us to see God's work and Ryan's new awareness! Lord we ask that you give Ryan comfort and peace through this healing process. Lord please give him the knowledge to understand your work, patience to lean not on his own understanding, and to know the amaxig was of your miracles that we are encountering.
Ryan is also beginning to move his right arm more and more each week! He slowly "pushed" his respiratory technician out of the way today! Ryan is hard-headed as usual, but we praise God for this movement!!
Romans 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. -- what a beautiful scripture that God reminds us how amazing his love and faith is.
