“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Ryan is becoming very agitated in bed. This is apparent because he constantly using is left leg to kick the sheets then use his left arm to move pillows or blankets as well. Lord we ask that you provide Ryan with comfort, peace, and a sense of understanding during this lengthy time of recovery. We ask that you give Ryan patience just like you have given us, his family, dear Lord. We thank you for him movement, but also pray that Ryan is able to relax and rest when his body needs it.
The new low bed came in last night. After putting Ryan into the new bed the decision was made that he moves too much for this bed! Ha, how ironic! The low bed has very low rails and since Ryan is still unconscious, the doctors do not feel comfortable leaving him in a bed with little barriers. So once again, Ryan is back in his original bed.
This morning Ryan spent over an hour being assessed by a team that consisted of physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, doctors, and nurses. They assessed Ryan on his level of consciousness. The therapist were very impressed on how well he did; we will find out the official results later. The team will complete this same assessment in a week or two, the most important thing is that Ryan progresses each time; which we are confident that he will! :)
Ryan made the paper AGAIN! Conroe Courier posted another article on the updates of Ryan: http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/courier/news/willis-teen-making-baby-steps-in-recovery-after-atv-accident/article_66db6a1d-ff96-5d43-99c9-be71f1747041.html
Our AMAZING nurse, Jose, asked his personal barber to come visit Ryan for a hair cut. This hospital continues to show their compassion for Ryan daily. Both Jose and the barber were so gentle and kind to Ryan. Ryan got a fresh-do and we all know he feels soooo much better. That boy has some hair! I bet he lost 5 pounds just from hair.
