The emails that I randomly continue to recieve, reminding me that you are still praying instantly warms my heart. I know that if you are not constantly with Ryan all of the time that it is easy to forget. I want to thank you so much for being an amazing servant of God and lifting up the weak and the wounded in your prayers, including Ryan.
Since we have been home, we are filled with blessings but nothing is easy. Nothing. Ryan is struggling with many different problems as the time passes at home and throughout outpatient therapy. He will soon be re-emitted back into TIRR in the medical center in Houston. It is very difficult to adjust medications to better Ryan's aggression when we are at home. Therefore, the doctors as well as his family, think that this is the best decision to help his health as of right now. It is a difficult decision, but we are trying to do whatever it takes to get Ryan healed. Please continue to pray that these decisions are the steps that God wants. We are at peace, and know that if this is the wrong decision, our Lord will not let it happen. Also, Ryan does not know this yet, we will tell him when the dates become more definite. If you text, visit, or speak to him please do not mention this yet.
In church I heard a story about how young children hold their parents or grandparents hand and will walk for hours. The child does not ask how long it will take, where we are going, and is not afraid. They are confident and comfortable holding this "big person's hand" and know that they will not lead them into harm. Even if the parent takes and left and then a right and veers off the path, the child does not ask why, but continues to hold the hand and follow along. This is the perfect analogy of how we are supposed to follow in God's plan each day. We must walk diligently in the hands of our Lord. We should have the mindset of children; knowing that our Father will not leave us and will protect us everyday. Even if we must veer into an unexpected or unplanned path, He knows what is best for us and will continue to walk by our side and lead us out and away from the fire. Sometimes we want to ask why, but all we need to know is that He knows why and it is to make us stronger, better, and more faithful.
"If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to follow-to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to hold fast to him-" Deuteronomy 11:22
