rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer Romans 12:12
I believe this scripture solidifies Ryan's journey. It is very simple, but means so much and allows us to keep going and not give up. Ryan is attending therapy 3 times a week and he does a great job and works so very hard. Unfortunately, we are able to see a difference in his balance, stamina, and strength due to the reduction of therapy hours from inpatient to outpatient. This is true for all of his therapy sessions except for speech. He is doing fantastic and learning and trying to make new sounds and syllables. This type of therapy is frustrating and mentally exhausting for him but he tries very hard and works so well with his speech therapist! Ryan's voice is also becoming stronger as well. We are working on having him use his voice in all types of daily communication instead of pointing or shaking his head, this is a task, but we know it will only help me.
There are many difficulties that we are still undergoing since being at home. Some of the issues are due to home constraints while others are new developments in a TBI patients recovery. I will not go into detail via this website, but if you are curious you may call the family members to explain. We are still asking for continued prayers while Ryan undergoes each step into recovery and healing. His questions that he often asks show confusion, and makes it very sad for our family. We are remembering how far God has brought Ryan and that he has a very big purpose in his life.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9
I want to send a very special thank you to the friends and family that continue to help us. The visitors give us a sense of reality and Ryan really enjoys seeing your faces, it is very special to him. Thank you to Texans BBQ for providing our family with a fantastic meal. Our neighbors have also done wonderful things for us when we were gone and while at home: from mowing our lawn to providing dinners. During a tragedy, God shows us his children and we are so grateful to have so many old and new friends lend a generous hand during our time of need. Another huge thank you to everyone that says a pray for Ryan and our family nightly or even weekly. We will never know how many lives and heart Ryan's miracle has touched, but God's word is being spread throughout the nation and will continue as Ryan progresses each day. Praise God for his never-ending love and guidance!
