First off, I want to thank all of Ryan's friends and family that has continued to pray and visit him since being at home. YES, it is an amazing miracle that Ryan has retuned home, but the journey to recovery is not over. This being said, he is still facing countless hardships and struggles. The friends and family that have visited Ryan while being at home makes him so happy. It is difficult for me to express my gratitude in words for this, but I will try. When we tell Ryan that a specific friend or family member will be visiting, Ryan's whole persona changes. He begins shaking his head up and down in excitement and asks what time they are coming, what time it is now, and all other various, detailed questions. Ryan becomes overwhelmed with excitement for the visitor. This excitement in turn, brings my heart such joy. It's amazing how a person can bring such happiness in someone's life. It's really simple, but means a lot. With that being said, thank you again to everyone that continues to make the effort to show Ryan your love and support just by coming and hanging out with him.
On Tuesday of this week, Ryan visited TIRR in the Woodlands for his initial evaluation for occupational, physical, and speech therapy. He did an amazing job and worked so hard to show off his strengths for the therapists. We will know in about a week how often his therapy will occur each week.
Ryan's agression is still hindering some of the necessary daily activities that must occur, but I believe he is getting better at controlling his hitting and agitation. Please continue to pray for this.
We also ask that you thank God anytime you think of Ryan and his miracle that he has undergone. Our Lord has shown us an amazing blessing that has changed or lives. Even with the continued journey and hardships, we must not forget the miracle God has given us - Ryan. He is here, he alive, and he is healing! Praise God for this!
