Today is the day we have anticipated for 7 months!
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalms 37:23-24
Even throughout the struggles of this journey, God has delighted us in our steps throughout the day. He has not let go of our hands even on the days that we felt that standing was. impossible. God led us through, and he continues to lead us. We had days we wanted to give up, but He never did. He continued to show us the light, guide our steps, and bless us with continued hope, peace, and faith. We praise his name daily, because there has not been a day that has gone by that our Lord has not shown his face.
Seven months ago we were faced with the worst news of our lives. Doctors telling us repeatedly, "there is nothing they can do, your brother won't make it…we have never seen anyone recover from this extensive amount of injuries." In that instance, you lose all sense of reality. You want to throw-up and your legs give out from underneath you; almost like a movie. Is this really happening to our "perfect little family"? Looking back at those first few weeks are a blur. Those words pierced our hearts every time the doctors told us there was no hope. As we sat in the "meeting room" filled with my entire family and the team of top medical neurosurgeons, I can still hear my sweet cousin Jayde tell them "whelp, today is the day you will see a miracle." She was right. I am blessed to have parents to know that this was and always will be in God's hands. The doctors were asking us to make "decisions" on my brothers life. I praise God daily for giving my parents the strength and knowledge to know that if Our Lord wanted Ryan, He would take him. The decision of life is and never will be our decision. Thank you Lord for showing us that you had Ryan in your hands in the entire time.
Psalm 107:19-21Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.
God has changed our lives. We are along way from normal, but I can personally say that I will never be the same. I was able to witness God's work first hand. Ryan was given zero percent chance of survival, zero. The surgeons did not operate on Ryan's brain because the damage was too extensive. Ryan was never supposed to be able to open his eyes, see, walk, talk, breathe, or move. He is now doing all of the above and more! He is doing these things due to the mercy the most powerful healer and physician, our God. He was the operator on Ryan's entire body from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. Oh Lord My God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. Psalm 30:2
I have said this before, but God has shown himself in ALL OF HIS GLORY! He created the brain, so he can heal the brain. The doctors gave Ryan zero percent chance, so it just gave Our Father 100 percent of the credit!
Ryan is now home. Today is the day we all have been looking forward to for months, and it is finally here! We are so blessed to have Mom and Ryan back home. I cannot put into words how happy this day has been. I am filled with emotions and absolute pure joy when I saw Ryan's face as we pulled up to the house. We have a long road ahead of us, but I know that Ryan will feel so much more comfortable in a normal atmosphere.
We are having a welcoming home party for Ryan on Saturday at 2pm. All family and friends are invited to celebrate Ryan's journey and amazing miracle that we have received. We would love to see you and I know Ryan will too! The address is 14889 Libra Ct. Willis, Tx 77318.
We are truly grateful for everyone's continued support throughout this process. The prayers and words of encouragement have been amazing. Please continue to pray and have faith in Ryan's complete restoration. I know that Ryan will soon talk again, because he has a lot to say. His testimony will be heard around the world!
