Last night was another one for the books. Ryan pulled out his PEG from his stomach causing a team of doctors to take a look at it. It was very important to ensure that the tube is still in the correct spot because it can be very harmful otherwise. After an X-ray and the tube being filled with dye, the team made the decision that his tube was still in place. Lord, thank you for another miracle you have given us, allowing Ryan to not have to undergo another unexpected surgery.
The doctors should be in sometime today to reinsert the PEG, which can be done bedside.
The neurosurgeon visited Ryan this morning. He gave the usual neuro-tests, and with that, delivered great news! He informed us that the mere fact that Ryan was able to locate and then pull out his PEG is a great sign from the neuro stand point!! Of course, the ICU and PEG team did not enjoy this mini disaster, and neither did we ... but there always seems to be a small flower growing in between the sidewalk. Meaning, God is ALWAYS blessing us, even if it is hard to see at first. That is what faith is for, and why we have it! Ryan is becoming aware of items on his body, and he obviously does not like them! :) Although for us, the fact that he is becoming aware, gives us great joy! Lastly, the neurosurgeon left us with this, he says, "The lights are starting to turn on inside of Ryan." Hallelujah! And if anyone knew Ryan when he was very young he would be saying Ha-lay-lu-la Pwaise da Lword! :)
God is here every step of the way, and he continues to show his amazing glory each and everyday throughout this journey....How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can't even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me. Psalms 139:17-18
5:00pm : Today has been quiet and peaceful. The silence is refreshing.
