We are asking for no visitors until further notice. Ryan is becoming over stimulated with multiple people in the room at this stage of his recovery. He is becoming very agitated and upset, so on behalf of Ryan's best interest, we are limiting the people in his room. Thank you for understand, and please continue your prayers.
Ryan is adjusting very well to the new facility. We are all sooo very proud of him! The doctors are taking excellent care of him. Ryan has not slept well for over a week. The doctors here say that his sleep is very important because it affects his therapy the next day. Last night, Ryan was finally able to sleep! Praise God for the new medications and Ryan's peace throughout the night.
Ryan is still very aggressive, but in between his aggressions he does very well! :)
Yesterday during therapy he was able to kick a ball with his RIGHT leg!!!! YES, his RIGHT leg!!!! We are so grateful that he is gaining movement on the right side of his body. He later was able to pick up a bean bag with his RIGHT hand and throw it a few times! Thank you Lord for answering our prayers every single day, we know you are true and faithful because You have never left our sides through these trying times.
Speech therapy is very difficult for Ryan. The therapist allowed Ryan to try to eat ice cream. AWESOME RIGHT??!?!? He did it very well, but after the first swallow he became aggressive and would not do it again. Even though he did well with this task, something bothered him. The speech therapist reminded us that he may be frustrated because the task of swallowing and eating is "supposed" to be easy, but for him it takes a lot of effort; this is what could be upsetting him. Lord I pray for Ryan's patience. We see his professions, but I know that this work is difficult and strenuous on him. I pray that you give him the courage and motivation to keep working hard and to not give up.
This morning Ryan was schedule for a Swallowing Exam. We just got word that he passed with flying colors!!! This means that we can work harder to get him to eat normal, soft foods! Not only did he do amazing, but he did it without punching anyone this morning! WOO HOO! PROGRESS!!! :)
This scripture is in faithful prayer to Ryan: Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1 Timothy 4:15
Please continue to pray for Ryan's throat and scar tissue. We know that God can heal anything, even when the human says it is impossible. Ryan is already LIVING proof! "Lord Jesus we speak to that scar tissue and that aggression and anything that is at war against Ryan in his body and his mind and heart and soul. It must bow to the mighty name of the Lord. Put ALL things under your authority and we plead your blood over them. Your word says, those things at war against us shall be as nothing, as a non-existent thing! The Might Name of YESHUA." - Aunt Judi
